His legacy
Johns' life part 2
When my dad was 33 yrs old he met my mother Anna who had 2 children Kathleen 7 and Phil  6. They must of hit it off pretty well. I was born the following year . I am Marianne Scully the oldest of the Scully grandchildren. In the early years I remember my dad as a lot of fun.He would always take us on long drives and tell us incredible stories of people and places. When my mother would go out he would play games and let us get away with a lot of stuff we couldn't when mom was around. One time it was too cold outside he let us fill up a pool inside the house. Mom was not happy about that.He taught me to ride a bike and to rollerskate and at the same time teaching me about life . He was a lot of fun. In 1964 my sister Jacqueline was born . She was named after him. We grew up in the Catholic religion but as kids found it very boring. To try to instill a sense of morals and values he would take us to his childhood church, Our Mother of Sorrows which just started guitar masses and served doughnuts and juice afterwards. He tried to make it fun and interesting  but we were just there  for the doughnuts.
Johns' life Part 3

It was 1965 my mom got sick for a very long time. This triggered a very dark time in my dads' life. The possibility of raising a family alone was just a little too much but we survived. As we grew into adulthood my father became my mentor and friend. He taught me a lot about business, dealing with people and life.

Johns' life part 4
In 1972 my father moved to Florida and worked in his brother Joe's real estate office. This seemed to be a very happy time in his life . He worried us a lot with his antics but he seemed to enjoy a second childhood of sorts. I guess to make up for a part of life he missed out on.  Throughout the years my dad always kept in touch either to check in and see how things were going , give advice when needed but  basically to let us know he cared.
Johns' life Part 5
My dad knew he was getting older when he became a grandfather aka POP- POP

In 1997 he moved in with my sister Jackie and spent his remaining years surrounded by family and his two youngest grandchildren who loved him dearly.
As I look back on my dads' life. I realize just how much I learned from him. He loved unconditionally. He was a giver and expected nothing in return. He taught me how to care about others more than myself and how to have fun and enjoy all phases of life and be able to deal with whatever life threw my way.
All in all I would say he led a life well lived . To those of us who knew him, know that his legacy will live on for generations to come.
